Phew! 2020 is in our rear view mirror. Tennis starts again, but it won't be normal business yet. So the tournaments this week start on Tuesday or even Wednesday. And also end somewhere in the middle of next week. Do not ask me why. We get two for the men and one for the women. But! The WTA is a 500 while the ATPs are both just 250. You do the math!

So yes! At last! This is a WTA500. Hooray! But yeah, it's still for 470 points. Aaahahhhahahahahaa! Nevermind that though! Let's see whos in it! A strong field with four top tenners and a whole bunch of top 20 players. There are no byes and here are the top 8 seeds: Kenin, Svitolina, Pliskova, Sabalenka, Muguruza, Rybakina, Mertens and Vondrousova. The next 8 are Sakkari, Kontaveit, Brady, Muchova, Putintseva, Jabeur, Vekic and Alexandrova. Anisimova was in there but she's out due to illness. Gotta say this is pretty stacked! Who else showed up? Well... Gauff, Mladenovic, Sasnovich, Pavlyuchenkova, Kasatkina v Wang (Q!), Hsieh, LAF, Cirstea, Sevastova, Kudermetova, Diyas, Watson. Also Trevisan and Podoroska, remember them? And also three more Wangs.

This is an ATP 250. And is plagued by withdrawals. Started with a pretty tough list, but now Garin is the top seed. Yeah. It's a 28 players draw so top 4 seeds have a bye. That means Isner, Mannarino and Hurkacz. The other 4 seeds left are Paul, Querrey, Andujar and The Tiaf. I'm gonna try a who else is there... just for laughs. Holy crap it's bad. I suck at ATP but still... Dr Ivo, Norrie (thanks Pete!) and basically that's it. There's a Bjorn Fratangelo that deserves mention based on his name and the fact he's the last direct entry to MD, #274. Yep. Might be the weakest sauce 250 in a long while (or a very short one if Antalya can get their shit together and publish a draw).

Another ATP 250. At a quick glance it's the better ATP tourney of the week. I mean I see more known names, at least. Weirdly this one has a full 32 players draw, which means no byes. The 8 seeds are Berretini, Goffin, Fognini, de Minaur, Struff, Basilashvili, Kecmanovic and Bublik. Who else? Well, let me tell you! Chardy v Albot, Jaziri, 4U and Herbert. And 3 Turks!
