So it's the week before AO. Things are quieter. Just a bunch of ATP 250s a WTA Premier and one International, so that the stress is minimal.

This is the inaugural event and it's a mixed one. ATP 250 and WTA Premier!
Gonna start with the women. Last chance to get some rhythm before AO. So those that rested after the lavish New Year's parties had to show up here. Kvitova was entered but chose to say pass (fatigue), after a pretty convincing week in Brisbane. Top two seeds (Barty and Halep) have a 1st round bye, unlike the rest (Bencic, Bertens, Sabalenka, Kenin, Vondrousova, Kerber). Who else is there? Well here they are: Pavlyuchenkova v Kontaveit, Stephens, Goerges, Collins, Sevastova v Vekic, Wang (Q), Hsieh, Strycova. Strong stuff!

Onto the men. I bet some of these dudes were involved in the ATP Cup. Hooray! Top four seeds have byes: De Minaur, FAA, Rublev, PCB. The other four are Fritz, Garin, Struff, Opelka. Also here ARV, Cuevas (who already won his 1st match), Simon, Evans, Querrey, Verdasco, Herbert and lastly the famous Duckworth.

For some reason this is a weaker field WTA International, maybe Adelaide forked some incentives to the players (yeah I missed that Adelaide is in fact a Premier! My bad!), being a 1st time event and all... No byes here, so all eight seeds start early: Mertens, Muguruza, Rybakina, Zhang, Kudermetova, Linette, Peterson, Garcia (yes, she's last). Also around The Lesser Pliskova, Stosur, Bellis v Bouzkova, AVU, Davis, Kuznetsova.

ATP 250, top four seeds have byes: Fognini, The Shap, The Khach, Isner. Next four don't: Paire, Hurkacz, Mannarino, Albot. Here are some other notable names: The Tiaf, Lopez, Norrie, Edmund, Tennys Sandgren (gotta go full name here!), Cecchinato, Ruud.
